Entry #2. Hoodies That "Hoodie"

Image
There's nothing worse than a hoodie that doesn't fit the way you want it to. There have been too many times in the past when I've bought a hoodie, and I ended up hating the way it looked and fit on me. Through a lot of trial and error, I've been able to figure out what qualities make a hoodie "hoodie". My credentials are that I (1) own a lot of hoodies, (2) have friends who love wearing said hoodies, and (3) even had my high school art teacher ask me where I buy my hoodies.     The two most important things I look for in a hoodie are its drop shoulder and boxy fit. What is a drop shoulder?  A drop shoulder is where the shoulder seams sit lower than your actual shoulder. It creates a relaxed and comfortable fit. When the seams line up exactly with your shoulders, the underarm area can feel tighter and less flexible. Boxy-fit hoodies also enhance the overall comfort of the hoodie. There's more room to move in and breathe. The square body shape also ...

Entry #1. The Joy of Baking

Image
Growing up, I had too much time on my hands. That led me to try various hobbies and activities to pass the time. Some of these activities include knitting, skateboarding, sewing, and even learning different languages. The biggest problem I faced, though, is that I always found myself growing bored after a couple of months. That problem has followed me for as long as I can remember. The process of preparing each ingredient, combining them, and seeing everything come together can be really relaxing and therapeutic.  Sharing what you made with friends and family makes the hard work you put into it even more rewarding. Nothing beats the feeli...

I must admit... I had a prejudice against blogs. I thought blogs were outdated. I thought they were boring. I thought no one wrote blogs anymore and that it was just some fad that had died out after 2016. Why 2016?  Back then, Tumblr was one of the "it-girls" of social media platforms.  Everyone and their moms were on Tumblr. That was the last time I had heard about anyone having and regularly updating their blogs. After that, everybody moved on to video-based platforms like YouTube or Musical.ly.     I was shocked and surprised, to say the least, when I found out websites like Billboard and Elle were blogs. I didn't know professional blogs were a thing. I thought all blogs were personal. It felt like my world shifted a little when I found out the recipe websites I had been using for my baking needs were also considered blogs.     As I was looking at some of the most popular blogs, I found myself drawn to the Vogue site. I really liked how cl...
